Matt Koop: Director of Coaching & Head Coach for U9 & U14 Boys & U19 Boys

Matt is the Director of Coaching for the Glass City Soccer Club where he heads up the Boys U9 & U14 and the Boys U18- White team. Matt is in his 7th year of coaching at Glass City.  Coach Koop has over sixteen years of coaching experience tallied up from both the club and high school realms.  Most recently Matt was the Varsity Assistant for St. John's Jesuit High School.  Prior to that he served for 7 years as the Associate Varsity Coach at St. Francis DeSales and one year at Sylvania Southview.  Matt is also the Director for the Varsity Developmental Soccer Academy.

Matt holds his Advanced Regional Diploma with the NSCAA and a "C" license with the USSF.

John Orozco: Club Technical Trainer/ Tactitioner & U11 Girls

Coach Orozco is in his third year with Glass City. He led the St. Francis De Sales High School Soccer Program for 11 years. During his tenure he established an impressive record which included District Finals appearances, one Regional Finalist apprearance and a State Runner-up finish in 2003. At the present time, Coach Orozco is the President of the Northwest Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association. He also serves as a staff member of the NSCAA Convention and holds his NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma and his USSF "D" license. During past two years, he has remained involved in area soccer as the CYO Soccer Commissioner for the Diocese of Toledo. In his free time, Coach has also begun a successful career as a color analyst for BCSN. Coach Orozco brings a lifetime of experience to Glass City.
 
 

Tim Fradette: Head Coach for U10 Girls

Coach Fradette has been coaching soccer for the Washington Local Recreational and Glass City organizations for approximately 5 years.  Coach Fradette started coaching with WLSC (Washington Local Soccer Club) with his son Jeremy.  He then spent the next 2 years as an Assistant Coach for the Glass City U10 Boys team.  Coach Fradette is now entering his 3rd season as the U10 Girls Head Coach.  His resume includes a Youth Module U9-U12 Certificate, a perfect 10-0-0 season, and 3 second place tournament finishes.  Tim had 3 children - Jeremy, 11, Hailee, 6, and Genna, 3.  Tim's son Jeremy started with Glass City and now plays at the highest state level in OYSAN.  His daughter, Hailee, plays for the Glass City Academy Program, and his youngest daughter, Genna, is already picking up the game.  Coach Fradette's goal for the
                                2011-2012 season is to obtain his USSF "D" license.

Bob Axtell: Head Coach for U11 Girls- Red Team

Coach Axtell is in his fifth year as a Head Coach for Glass City Soccer.  Coach Axtell has college playing experience as a goalkeeper.  In addition to coaching during the Fall and Spring, Bob works year round helping to run footskill clinics,and training during the offseason.  Coach Axtell is also a Seargant in the United States Army.

Steve Karalfa: Head Coach for U11 Boys
Coach Karalfa is originally from West Toledo (Trilby), but now resides in Bedford, Michigan.  Coach Karalfa is the father of 4 children, all of which have played soccer, except the youngest, for now.  He has been coaching travel soccer for the last 7 years.  Coach Karalfa coached for a total of 6 years for USASEM, Bedford Soccer, and Bedford United before joining Glass City Soccer last year.  While at Bedford United Coach Karalfa also served as the Coaching Director.  Steve states that, "this is a great game for kids that doesn't require a lot of equipment, just a ball and some open space.  I love the energy of the game and the way you can express yourself doing it.  Glass City Soccer brings me back to where I grew up."  PICTURE COMING SOON!!
